DIARY
– MONDAY DECEMBER 25th 2006. CHRISTMAS DAY.
I got some lovely presents. Two graphic comic books by Harvey Pekar, Ego & Hubris, and The Quitter, a collection of very early Mad Magazines, The Mad Chronicles, some sweets, and a Superman Returns Annual, A little lantern light for use at Civil war battles and regimental musters, which will be very useful for negotiating my way round a camp site after dark. £10.00 to spend as I wish, £30.00 in record shop vouchers, a lovely jumper and a bottle of Christmas Card Ale.
Most of the day was then very quiet, and I stayed online up to a fantastic Christmas dinner prepared by Mother.
The dishwasher we got earlier this year made the washing up an easier task.
My parents’ fixation on TV soap opera was served by hours of special omnibus editions, which again, drove me online and alone for hours. My views on such entertainment are covered at soaps.htm
I did get to watch the Christmas Doctor Who episode – The Runaway Bride, which was excellent. See TV REVIEW – DR. WHO – THE RUNAWAY BRIDE. It was gone midnight when it ended.
And that was that - Christmas was over for another year. It had been a good, pleasant, memorable, if a little dull one, given the Soap infestation. I feel very grateful to everyone who sent me cards and presents, as always.
