FILM REVIEW – ABDUCTED BY THE DALEKS
A
deeply embarrassing soft-porn film with cameo performances by the Daleks from
Doctor Who. The film breeches copyright laws
and was therefore banned almost as soon as it was issued. Lawsuits and
accusations of indecency followed.
The film is
mercifully short (40 minutes maximum) and its makers (using pseudonyms glibly
associated with the TV series of Doctor Who, like Ted Hartnell and Bob Skaro),
have made such a mess of the film that the BBC ought to have really just
ignored it.
The near non-existent plot is that
of four girls travelling by car to a party gets lost in a dark forest. They are
then stripped of their clothes and end up on a Dalek spaceship, dancing naked,
hitting each other with whips and groping the mostly voyeuristic Daleks.
The Daleks tire of the entertainment
a lot later than the audience do, and exterminate the women, blow up the Earth,
and fly away as the song Climb Every Mountain is played. The film ends.
The Daleks seem to be genuinely
borrowed from a Doctor Who adventure. However, they barely move, and while one
has the correct metallic voice the other two have distinct Birmingham accents.
To expand the film’s limited length and premise,
out-takes are simply left in. Some scenes reprise three or four times in
sequence, with slight variations; the girls break out in giggles at
inappropriate places, and the crew are clearly visible walking in and out of
shot. It is the most amateurish mess ever issued on DVD.
