Dire
zombie / Succubi horror and soft porn film, done with mock trailers for other
exploitation flics in the Grindhouse
tradition. That is so bad that it becomes semi-entertaining.
The
plot is wafer thin. A group of parapsychologists are invited to look into the
claims about ghosts in a large house, which was once a lunatic asylum. The
demonic Succubi (women who feed off male sexual energy), pick of the men one by
one. The one female investigator stays with the sinister host, who is so
obviously a villain. He is seeking a Scarab Beetle amulet, which has the power
to control or destroy the demons – he chooses to control them rather than to
destroy them, but they are wise to his plans and kill him in his turn. – The
female parapsychologist ends up becoming new Succubi, and her picture is added
to a portrait of the women on the wall in the main dining hall of the house.
Cheap
and tacky in the extreme, the film tries to combine elements of The Legend Of
Hell House with The Evil Dead, but lacks the budget, or any real imagination.
Simply throwing chopped liver about and sloshing red-dye water under doors to
suggest the bloodshed going on within depicts murders.
What
is really laughable is the sex – the men all find a naked girl who wasn’t in
the house, and makes the most of the chance to get laid, before she rips him to
pieces. In one ludicrous sex scene, the man seems to be getting his end away
without removing his pants or having opened the zipper. Succubi are supposed to
sap men through sex, not have sex and then just resort to slashing their
victims apart.
There
are a few background zombies (ghosts of previous victims) who don’t do much
more than stare and lumber around, but they look more menacing than the girls
and therefore criminally under-employed. – On the whole, this film is a waste
of everyone’s time and talent.
