THE GREATER MANCHESTER HUMANIST GROUP. MEETINGS 1992- 2000
I was proud and privileged to serve as secretary of the Greater Manchester Humanist Group until January 2000. Since December 2007 they have been called called the Greater Manchester Humanists and the secretary is now John Coss. Initially, all of our public meetings took place at the Withington Bridge Club, Palatine Road, Withington. Committee meetings generally fall between each monthly public event. Until 1997 most meetings were on Friday Evenings.
9th October - INAUGURAL MEETING of the founder members. 35 Attendees. Unanimous recognition of the ad hoc steering Committee.
13th November - DISCUSSION ON THE PRINCIPLES OF HUMANISM.
11th December - MATT CHERRY - BHA Public Relations Officer.
13th January - SOCIAL NIGHT.
12th February - FIRST AGM - Vote to associate with the British Humanist Association.
(In March ‘93, we moved from the Bridge Club to St. Thomas’s Visitor’s Centre, Ardwick Green, Manchester).
