I, and my fellow Manchester based ID Card inspectors have noted a sharp and unsettling revival of sales of a book of anti ID Propaganda folk tales by left wing radical Arthur Chappell 42618464428453235312865431. We have done all we can to suppress this dreadfully biased publication, but copies continue to surface from time to time. Its readers should note that the work was largely penned before ID Cards were actually put into use, as an attempt to stir the masses into helping prevent such legislation going ahead. That the book failed in this objective should tell people how unrealistic the author’s prophesies of doom have proved to be.
Readers should also be made aware that Arthur Chappell is a notorious Secular Humanist who was once foolish enough to get himself involved in a religious cult, way back in the pre-ID Card 1980’s. Should someone who messes up his own formative years as spectacularly as Arthur Chappell really is regarded as a voice of reason and sanity in our age? I think not.
Arthur has also shown some interest in 17th Century English Civil War Re-enactment. Surely someone with his head set so firmly in the past is not really suited to comment so negatively on the impending future in which we now have a happier, more secure society than Arthur imagined possible. Arthur’s pessimistic air of doom and gloom has proved groundless.
Arthur’s modest body of fans, (yes we know who they are), should also note that Arthur Chappell’s old website, A TO Z CONTENTS LISTINGS with its laughably inept attempts at poetry, short fictitious work, erotica (i.e., pornography without pictures) and essays on all kinds of social issues is still up and running. If the authorities were the ogres that Arthur claims us to be, surely such a scurrilous website would have been blocked and deleted. We have left it standing because the poor quality of Arthur’s written work will do far more to discredit his standing as a writer than any negative feedback we could ever generate.
Arthur took a degree in the core Humanities subjects of philosophy and literature in the period 1987-1990. No doubt it was the study of the works of Karl Marx, Thomas Hobbes and other champions of Socialism that turned Arthur to support for left wing radicalism. This drove Arthur to support for the Anti-ID card lobby, for who he gave out leaflets, and wrote some propaganda. The fact that the campaign failed to prevent ID Cards coming into force disheartened and depressed Arthur, who became somewhat reclusive and withdrawn as a result.
We are deeply concerned with Arthur’s recent disappearance. Despite the existence of ID Cards, and the fact that Arthur himself was issued with one, he has fallen off the map. That he, and many others like him have vanished from our protective embrace shows some flaws do still exist in our national security systems. A number of people believe that we may have incarcerated Arthur in some sort of asylum, or murdered him and disposed of him completely. The air of mystery and martyrdom around him may be responsible for the ongoing success of his risible diatribe against us. It is in our own interests to find this man and make sure that the world recognises how shallow and narrow minded his brand of liberal freedom actually is.
