AQUABARD

Have you ever seen La Dolce Vita?
Especially the scene where Anita
Ekberg dances in a fountain in Rome?
She made me wish we had a fountain like that closer
to home,
And now we do have one in our city centre,
But while the one in Rome lets you enter
By wading into a waist deep, warm inviting pool
Manchester's lies hidden away in order to fool
You into wanting to try
Getting from one side to the other while you're
still dry.
You can only get so far before your luck runs out
As the girl going through will discover round
about...
Now, and look at the lad with her pleased as Punch to see
her get wet
While failing to notice a freshly activated water
jet
Erupting directly in his own path
Soaked clean through, he starts to laugh......
Here's a girl who pushes her friends into the water
They're after revenge and they've finally caught
her.
The lady you are looking at now volunteered to take
a whirl
At being my lovely Dolce Vita girl
But in fact she's acting and this is pretend
She's actually my best mate's girlfriend .
I did suggest this dream to a girl with whom
I once flirted...
But she slapped my face and called me perverted,
I miss out on all the candlelit dinners and sweet
romance
I never did have a Dolce Vita willing to dance
We're through filming now the Sun's leaving the
sky.
My wonderful actors are going off to get dry
They helped me to show how good life can feel
One day perhaps it will happen for real..
