PURITAN (To the
tune of Nowhere Man by Lennon & McCartney )
It’s a total complete ban
You have to be a Puritan
Nothing nice any more for nobody
There’s nothing much left to do
And the army will come for you
If you don’t live your life in misery
Cromwell’s on a mission
Your judge won’t listen
No one cares or understands
He killed Charles in his majesty
What hope now for you and me
Puritans let us have no fun at all
Don’t dare smile, look worried
Don’t take your time, look hurried
Happiness is banned throughout the land
Don’t dare buy something new
cast offs, and worn outs have to do
Until we bring back monarchy
Cromwell’s on a mission
Your judge will never listen
No one cares or understands
Dancing faces Cromwell’s ban
He’ll kill Christmas because he can
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody
